Is Bill Mitchell Hardcore racing bad?
I was wanting to save up some money to swap my 383 in my 72 Chevelle for a Hardcore 509, I want a 509 CI engine though, no other CI, so I came across Bill Mitchell's race engines, nice looking and powerful 509, but I heard a lot of bad things about him and his engines, so is this true? and what other race engine builders builds and sells 509 CI BBC engines?
Consider what you are getting for your money. Some of the companies out there charge a lot of money for what they will give you. I can say that because most of their packages are really easy to beat for a lot less money and without sacrificing any reliability. Sometimes we gain reliability.

I build 509's all day long. However, you should give serious thought to a 540 if you are thinking about a 509. In my experience, the Dart bare blocks are a nicer quality bare block than the World Products bare blocks. I also have an inside contact at Dart as well as Air Flow Research.

The other thing you need to consider is what your goals are with the car when all is said and done.
You are not simply going to put a well thought out 509 or 540 into a Chevelle and run insane numbers at the track. It takes much more than a good performing engine to do that. You need not get caught up so much in the HP numbers as you do with the torque numbers and how well the engine accelerates. Unless you have a custom built Carb with at least a Holley HP 950 as your platform, it won't run and it will be a pig on the street. You're dreaming if you think you are simply going to buy an off the shelf box stock Holley carb and have any sort of combination of drivability/manners and good WOT performance. To say that you will find 40HP and a ton of improved manners/drive ability with the right custom blueprinting done to that box stock carb is VERY realistic.

You will also find nothing but good things by grinding a cam on an A fire core aka 4/7 firing order swap.

I can tell you time after time how I've had clients ask me to make them a cam, then they go out and win an NHRA National event with it. After that, they will call me again to say they found more HP with yet another cam change. After I hear what they found, I tell them that it will slow down and they quickly call me crazy. Then comes the moment of truth: They run the car back to back with each cam (and change cams at the track after having previously done so on the dyno in order to know their curves and their carb set up for each cam), and sure enough, the car slows down enough that they are shocked, and I have a really good laugh when they call me up practically in tears. HAHA. At least they stop arguing with me and realize I am a cam God. LOL.

I am happy to discuss your goals and what it would take from me to get you there. I will also tell you what is realistic and what is not. For example: Conventional port cylinder heads with large 345-360 CC intake runner volume are NOT realistic on a street able N/A 509, if you care at all what happens below 5000+ rpm. Especially if the engine is conservative on compression and short on cam timing.
Regardless wether or not you have the right cam in there, if you are trying to make power at 2500 RPM, a head that big on that size engine is dead wrong. No camshaft will Band-Aid that.

Will a 90 flex-flex rated ski boot be stiff enought to push a hardcore racing ski?
Im looking to buy a pair of either Volkl or Atomic racing ski...not sure of the model or size...probably somewhere in the upper 180 range. Will my boots that have a 90 flex rating be stiff enough to transfer all that energy and effectively turn the ski at high speeds?
Really depends on the brand. There is no standard flex rating that all the manufacturers use so a 90 flex Lange won't be the same as a 90 flex Atomic. Best bet is to contact the company rep. about this.
Langes use a 100 scale and Atomics a 140, so a 90 Lange would be stiffer than a 90 Atomic.
All that said, I'm sure that a 90 flex would work fine unless you're living off a racing career.
Salomon uses a 120 flex scale. So your 90's are great all-mountain boots, stiff enough for downhill speed and forgiving enough for a mogul field.
Is this hardcore running three races with a stress fracture?
The stress fracture was on my metatarsal and it was visible on the x-ray. it was swollen and stuff. I got my worse time the 3rd time I ran a cross country race with it.
It's idiotic. The more you race on it, the longer it'll take to recover, the less you can train for next season. You'll end up missing the whole season instead of a month and a half or so.
I understand and am all for running on injuries that won't do long-term damage to your body, but you're literally trying to split your foot in half.

Why is it that women in prison arent as likely to form "hardcore" gangs based on race while in prison?
I was watching an MSNBC report about people in jail. And I noticed the men where divided into race gangs- Aryans, blacks, Hispanics, etc....but the women's prison didnt seem that way at all. Why?

When a woman refuses to work within the social framework, she tends to be ostrasized rather than violently opposed.

It may be worth questioning though: for a woman - is ostrasization from the group equal to violence?

How do I DISACTIVATE hardcore mode in Test Drive Unlimited?
I downloaded it for my Xbox 360 racing wheel, and I f*cking hate it. I know that it is supposed to be selected in the opening menu, but there is no option for me. As soon as I downloaded it, it got all wacko in TDU without me ever pressing a button. It jumps around, and I constantly lose traction. Is my game ruined? It doesn't let me de-activate it.
Re-download it a third time and it should work.
